I just bought a used C2 with 20 in wheels.

The seller is running 295/30/20 and 245/30/20. From what I can tell, comparing to stock C2s (not C2) sizes, the rear is almost 4% too big of a diameter.

The only way to stay close to stock sizes is going down to a 25 profile rear. But is that asking for trouble, will I completely ruin the ride?

that's the problem with 20" on a 997. The ride sucks because you have to run lower profile tires

You cannot compare 19" wheels with 3XX tires to 20" wheels with the same tire on a 997, the ride is very different. The 997 was designed for a 18 - 19" wheel.

Personally, I don't think a 997 looks nice with 20" rims but to each his own.

Well I'd like to make the best of what I've got... don't really want to go and spend $4k on new rims and new tires when I just got these.

I actually do like the look, but the sizing is an issue. Maybe I should accept the 4% speedometer error and get the same sizes, to keep the 30 profile?

If you like the look of those wheels, they should be fine.

If you want to change the look to factory, Tire Rack has some solid replica's in 19in sizes that will run under $2k depending on the tire you use. I personally like the Turbo II replica's they have. I personally know a guy that tracks with these wheels and has had no issues over the last 2-3 years.

For $20 you can get an ebay color crest cap and be done with it.

Unless those wheels are plasti-dipped, they already look curbed and dinged. I'd replace them with proper 19s in something other than black - 20s look too big on a 997. You can get very good used wheels in The Marketplace for $3,000-$4,000 (Champion, HRE rotary forged, Forgeline, etc) and sell yours for maybe $1,500-$2,000

I run 305/25 ZR20 , in fact I have two with 75% tread remaining for cheap if you want them. No problem but I had a blowout on one of my fronts and couldnt get Michelin Pilot SS replacement for that tire so I replaced all with a different brand. Consequently there are the two reears sitting in my garage.

I run 305-25-20's on my rears.. the ride quality isn't much different from a 30 to a 25 series.

I'm running 325/25/20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports now pictured.

Way too big but just ordered 305/25/20 MPSS from tire rack. They said they did not have any online but somehow I got 2

The 305's fit perfect and I have 13mm spacers.

Any 20" setup will give a harsher ride. If I had a choice now I would go with 19's

How much you want for them?

Wow, that's a lot of rear poke. How far out past the fender lips is the ebfe of the tire or is it just the angle of the photo that makes it look that way?

What front fenders are those or did you add the flares/lips yourself?

They stick out approx. 20mm past fender. Taking out the spacer didn't help as they are 13mm. They look good but it will rub when driven hard and don't want to mess up my fenders.

Fenders and front bumper are factory GT3 RSR. They are molded.

My previous setup was 325/25/20's on Michelin PS2's. They were a lot smoother than my 19"s on Nitto's. Tires makes a huge difference.

I'd suck it up and downsize to 19" and get some meaty rubber. Feels good.
