Default Help for a newbie

Hi all
I am considering purchasing a 911 997 online. The one I am looking at has the following front right fender blemish which is fine. What I want to ask for is what is that thing pointed at by the arrow? And why is this one "lowered" while in other cars it is not? Thanks for any help.

Headlight washer nozzle. That one is pushed into the bumper. It shouldn't be. But it's a easy fix to pop it back out from below. Worst case the tabs on the underside are broken and the nozzle needs to be replaced or epoxied to the bumper.

I'd be more concerned with front license plate marks on the paint. That's more expensive to fix.

My best guess is that front impact broke the tabs on the washer nozzle. And that's just what we can see. Probably looking at $1k plus in repairs including the front bumper repaint. Maybe more if the inner ducting and/or cooling system also has damage. Hope that info is useful.

Thank you all. This helps a lot. Sounds like it is not a car I should consider.

Unless you are wanting a garage queen, I wouldn't completely pass on this one.
This is repairable. Just make sure everything else checks and consider repair prices in your offer on the car. Work it in your favor.

it would be a good excuse to upgrade to an aero bumper if you buy it.

+1 and there's a used one for sale from someone that did a Liberty Walk body kit on his 997. Pvirus_85 (or something like that) is his user name. He's selling the front and rear OEM aero package

I really appreciate all of your help. Since I am obviously in the right place, could you direct me to threads or articles that discuss the following two points:
1) Buying high mileage 911 and what to look for (this one has 106000 miles on it, which is why I can afford it LOL)
2) Buying and daily driving a convertible 911 in the snowy North East.
Thanks.

There are a load of NE owners on here and depending on where you're at it might be beneficial for you to offer coffee to a bunch and just chat with them, you'll learn a lot more in conversations than digging through a million threads.
