Default 245 front tyre on 8" rim?

Need new tiers for the 997.1 C2, the car has 8x18/10x18 Carrera III rims. I've also been looking for an additional set of rims for track duty since my opportunities for track driving has increased a lot during the last 4-5 years. As it happened, I stumbled over an identical set of rims, so I picked those up.
Will go for Michelin SuperSport for daily driving, and either RE11, AD08R or the new Hankook RS4 (if available) for track days.

Question is what sizes to choose? OEM 234/40 - 265/40, or 245/40 - 275/40?

Would really like a bit more grip at the rear but I'm concerned that 245/40 on a 8" rim is too much and will roll in corners.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Provided you this info in your other forum post. 235 is the max recommended width on an 8" wide wheel, with 245 being the absolute maximum, but at 245, the center portion of the tire will likely be more rounded since the wheel will be pinching it This will actually reduce your fontact patch and traction.
