New guy advise needed
I am combing the Internet looking for my first P-car and I thought a 2009 cs4 pdk coupe was the right car for me. I then saw that I could find a 2007-2008 tt with a 6spd for $5k more with similar goodies, and less mileage. Seems like a lot of car for just a little more. Am I jumping into the deep end of the pool for a first Porsche?
The tt car I found is well under kbb, Unlike most 997.2. Carfax looks clean, so I wonder why so cheap. Car Is located very far from me and closest dealer is 2-3 hours from this guy. Only speed shop local installs nos or there is a Firestone repair shop. How do I get a reliable pre purchase inspection when car is located in the middle of the desert out West?
I looked up the address on this little dealership on google earth and it looks pretty small and this car does not fit in with other inventory.
My head is telling me to run away....but I keep looking at my map to figure out how to go 1200 miles in under 24 hours.
Got any words of wisdom?

I would be very cautious before proceeding. It is possible that it's just a good deal, but you know what they say about things sounding too good to be true. A 6 speed 997 tt should be worth well north of 70k, depending on condition of course. If the car is indeed in good condition, then I think it's a heck of a purchase for your first p-car. Only the deep end if the car has issues, then it will be painful for your wallet.
A PPI sounds difficult in this situation, but I would not buy without having one done. Where is the car located? Perhaps, a local RL'er can take a look for you. Best of luck on the search and purchase.

For this type of car situation, post a thread asking for any rennlist members in the area to go by and look at the car
for you (they can use iPhone and FaceTime to point the camera anywhere on the car for you).
If this passes then get the PPI done and go from there.

Have you driven both?
some, myself included prefer the natural aspirated engine. The turbo is a beast but the engine is show horned in there even more and maintenance is more complicated, and therefore more expensive.

Ive owned two 930s and 996tt among many other P cars. And I can say they are trully great cars. Sunday and date night cars for me. I wouldnt ever drive them as daily drivers. They are beautful rides and on boost amazing cars. Off boost or driving in traffic not fun at all.
Drive them and one will speak to you.
Enjoy.

Las Cruces isn't too far from El Paso. I'd look into an indie Porsche shop in El Paso that would be willing to drive out there and do a PPI for you. Maybe they could take it on a 100 mile test drive (round trip to their shop in El Paso) and give it a good going over.
I don't think Redline Racing in El Paso is still around but touch base with some folks in the Carrera Region PCA and see if they may have any ideas for you.

I dont know whats right for you, but I would rather have the 09 4S PDK. its alot more updated and easier to drive daily, alot cheaper and easier to maintain, and the engine and trans is almost the same as was in 2016 cars.
As for buying a exotic car, (porsche) you have to have the car inspected by a dealer, or very experienced mechanic, get carfax, get all the service history you can find. Never buy one blind.

I also noticed the listed options don't exactly match the pics... for instance pic has electric seat and sports chrono and don't see them listed on the page.
Quick test is to decode the vin and see if all matches.

Dealer sent me car fax and it indicates car spent life out East and has 20k miles as of end of February ......18k less than in advertisement. I noticed he pulled car from his webpage inventory, but still sent me info.
