Default 997.1 vs 997.2 airbox

I just got a used 997.2 Getty sport duck tail. My car is a 997.1. I have been told by Getty that it will be very close and that the intake on the drivers side will match up. It got me thinking that It may be a cleaner install If a 997.2 stock air box would fit. I currently have a K & N intake on the car but thought it would be a cleaner install if it had the dual air intakes.

Does anyone know if a 997.2 airbox will bolt in on a 997.1 without any mods?

everyone's input is appreciated.

The throttle body allignment is different so it won't bolt directly up.

You may be able to make some TB to intake adapter to make it work. You probably will need to figure out the MAF sensor too.

Sounds like a cool project... keep us posted

The throttle body is different and so is the hose from the air box to the TB. Don't think it's an easy thing to do.

No I have not. It does look like it will be difficult to do and since the factory is such a good design I actually took off the K&N aftermarket unit and went back to the factory box. I just Plan on blocking the extra Hole in the duck tail.

I do miss the sound of the K&N intake but just cant see how a filter that you can see though could keep all the dirt out.
