Using 350mm OEM rotors in 997.2S

Ok...on the 997.2S, I know that right way to upgrade front brakes is gt3 calipers and turbo rotors for proper fittment. But here is what I don't understand...if giro disks and other can make a 350mm that works with stock 997.2S calipers - why doesn't the turbo 350mm rotor work directly with the stock calipers? What fails in that set up? Any one go through this? Thx

I'm not the best at brake combos so validate this.
My understanding is the 350mm with c2s calipers require a caliper spacer to make up for the extra 20mm. The gt3 calipers are built for 350mm so don't require the spacer.
350mm on c2s calipers are more for cooling than stopping since the pads are the same size. With the 350mm and gt3 calipers you get more pad also.

I believe the Turbo 350mm rotors will work with the C2S if you have the right caliper spacers. Girodisc provides a 12mm spacer when you get their 350mm rotor with the C2S. You would surmise that since the rotor is 350mm (20mm over more than OEM in diameter, or 10mm more in radius), you would only need a 10mm spacer but they provide 12mm to push out the caliper a bit since with the OEM setup, the pad is actually a bit recessed and the OEM rotor wears down with a lip on the outer edge.
Also, the Girodisc part number for the 350mm rotor for the C2S and the Turbo (non ceramic) are the same.

Girodisc sells 350mm upgrade for the front and rear of 997.2 CS.
With it comes two spacers for each caliper that allow the OEM caliper to fit the 350mm rotor.
Rear: http://www.girodisc.com/Girodisc-Rea...4S_p_6561.html
Front: http://www.girodisc.com/Girodisc-Fro...4S_p_6549.html
"The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc with the addition of our provided caliper spacers and longer bolts to accommodate the larger 350mm rotor."
I imagine the hats on these rotors match at least one other model 997 with 350mm rotors (probably the turbo). So you could save some money by getting the girodisc spacers and then OEM rotors (or equivalent) that match the Girodisc hat.
But honestly man you have enough info here. Just call Girodisc to get the spacers and confirm what OEM equivalent their 350mm rotors are. Here's their contact info spoon fed:

Based on the interest I got, my price was probably waaaaaay too low ;-)
Anyways, hope the new owner enjoys them.

I have the GiroDisc 350mm 'conversion' on the front of my .1S, and I think there's another thread where people talk about that kit. Opinions seemed to be 50/50 (from memory), or even slightly negative, about the idea of pairing 350mm discs with calipers designed for 330mm.
I've done two track events so far and I'm happy with the status of the rotors, compared to previous cheaper cross-drilled.
I know that it's hard to justify economically, but so are many other 'upgrades' for our cars!
