Default Wing Up or Down

I've noticed lately some parked Porsche's in my area and the wing is up. Obviously owner manual left it up. There is a Panamera in my immediate town area that has the wing Up all the time. As I have seen the car driving and parked and the wing is up.

Comments have been made in threads about wings being up. Wanted to find out why some feel the need to leave it up all the time? At low speeds in town it serves no purpose to have it up. Is it just a cosmetic thing? Does the car owner feel that the wing Up draws attention to their car?

Maybe when I see the Pani parked and the owner near I will ask.

Things that make you go hummmmm?

When I see wing up I think that it must be broken and can't retract.

If it stays up for more than 4 hours you should have it looked at.

Probably up on purpose but I note in my 996 Turbo the spoiler button on the dash is right next to the rear wiper button and more than once I've pressed the spoiler button instead of the wiper button and manually raised the spoiler.

But I always recognize my goof and lower the spoiler again rather than leave it up.

I used to think that but I really feel it's up on purpose. I don't want to say it's a poser move but I would like to know why some feel the need to have the wing deployed.

Maybe because they can??

Do you wear your shirt with your collar popped so everyone knows you're a douchenozzle? Then leave the wing up too

I liked having a wing on my car and the look so i left it up. Didn't care what others thoughts about it. How is it being a poseur if the car COMES with a wing?

I eventually stopped because I learned the engine compartment fan does not turn on when the wing is up so I kept it in auto mode. Eventually got the Aerokit to get the best of both worlds.

A wing on a sedan doesn't make sense to me outside the stability function at speed. it's like the wing on a Camry. Have a sports car or a sedan. Can't have both no matter what marketing tells you.

Hence the reason for my post. I've seen lots of Panamera's with the wing up. I have a Panamera as well as a 997. Neither of them I drove with the wing Up. Leave on Auto.

I'll admit to pushing the button up when on a spirited drive where otherwise it would be going up and down every few minutes. Wear and tear and all they.

I actually haye hate the look of it when it's deployed but luckily I can't see it inside.
