Thanks. My car only has 23k miles but is an 05. One side of my exhaust is a bit lower then the other....after market exhaust so thought maybe a hanger/mount or other.... but after reading this maybe could be a mount.

My money is on the mounts. They carry a lot of weight and will begin to sag especially on 12 year old 997.

Are the RS mounts good to use if you want stiffer but stay OEM?

Are the nyppd semi solid? From the reading I have been doing think I would prefer staying away from
solid....looks like they are solid design? But they mention good for track and street etc

anyone with first hand exoerience with the NYPPD ones? I think a review as mentioned on their site is good but sometimes those reviews can be planted by manufacturers....

thanks

Yes they are semi solid. I installed mine and have run the car on stands which is a poor representation of how they will feel on the road. I did feel more NVH than the OE mounts but not to an annoying degree. Again this is with the chassis on stands sitting on concrete which I'm certain is transmitting more NVH than it would with wheels on.

I'm planning to review them once I've logged a few miles...

Thanks for the good advice and thanks, Bruce, for the write up on how to do this.

My exhaust tips have lowered a bit over time but I don't have an absolute measurement because I've had them off the car three or four times (switched tips, then gundo hack, then center muffler swap) and have adjusted them each rime.

Now that I have a picture of how the rubber looks in a new mount, I'll get under there and compare that to my mounts. I suspect they've sagged enough that I can replace them and not feel like I'm wasting my money. The job certainly looks easy enough.

Also, the NYPPD mounts are semi-solid and based on reviews I've read, they seem to be more forgiving than most semi-solids but still transmit more NVH into the cabin than stock mounts.

My car is a daily driver so I'll be going with OEM mounts again.

I was going to say, it's pretty easy if you have a manual to feel what they used to call 'transmission shunt': that odd lag when you come off the clutch (say at the lights when you move off) and you're sure it's biting but there's still a bit of a lurch before you get any drive... as such I'd want to do all the engine and gearbox mounts at the same time.

We offer both The Genuine Porsche mounts and Rein mounts at a decent price with free shipping. We also sell the genuine Porsche RS mounts which are somewhat of a factory semi-solid mount.

Thanks for the link. Not a bad price for Porsche mounts.

I have the WEVO SS mounts. Very nicely made an they firm up the connection perfectly. As long as you're ok with the trade off of a little more cabin noise and vibration, they are great.

so regards to the RS mounts they dont have the long screw included (at least in the pics?) so you use old screws from old mounts removed?

So these are porsche gt3rs mounts correct?
