Absolutely not unless they agree to cover all damages. Even then 6 hot laps by a pro driver is really going to put heavy stress on your car and I would expect payment of at least new fluids, pads and tires.
1 hot lap by a pro is more like 5 hot laps by an amateur.
I don't know about your country, but in the US I would be concerned about personal liability risk since here virtually all insurance is null and void when the car is used on a track. If the driver gets hurt driving your car, couldn't they come after you for damages? You might not only lose a car but everything else too. In these cases, I never trust a waiver either, that doesn't stop a lawsuit here it just makes it more difficult.
I would. It's just a car. You're not loaning out your wife...
I'd require an insurance policy for replacement value for the car, and then my fee would be whatever I felt my time would be worth to find and acquire another car. Maybe also a hefty extra fee for overrevs in ranges 4-6 on the day.
Would you ask to borrow their car for the same purpose.... to drive the snot out of it....That may help you with your answer........
I have been in a car during hot laps, and honestly I would say that the breaks and tires suffered maybe 10-20% more than what I was doing during my track time. But I wouldnt ask someone nor let my car out for that purpose
just me..
When I go to new tracks I don't let instructors drive my car. I have them give me a ride in their 911 and ride shotgun in mine.
BTW stock pads and setup can handle track days easily I know.. Its not the car that will break or even need maintence.. its the DRIVER I worry about despite skill level.
yes, I want to be the only one that wrecks my car if something breaks and I go off track etc!
That said......
I have had a very good friend take me on a few laps in my 911 before - he is an instructor at HOD- and was doing 80% laps not a Hot lap.
This was at PIR which is not that crazy of a race track.
Years ago I was buying a car for autocrossing. The owner had me show up on Saturday and run against him using his car. Best test drive ever. He, of course, beat me but I did end up purchasing the vehicle.
