I tend to prefer the spoiler-less look, too. I feel it connects to the vintage 911 lines and shows off the rear engine layout a little more, particularly when compared to the giant racey (ostentatious IMO) GT wings. I'm such a sicko that I sometimes dream of deleting the wing from my TT...

Wow, that looks great.

I have a side of me that thinks the same thing regarding a wing on a 911. I have always hated the look of the turbo because of the tail and never considered one based on the look alone.

For some reason the 997.2 and 991 gt3 wing doesn't distract from the classic 911 lines as much to me. I think it is related to a "pedestal" type wing that takes the wing above the rear deck and doesn't connect with the hips, so it doesn't distract from the basic lines of the car.

Newbie question please

Do the decklid parts for the Wide body and NB cars differ ?
I am looking for an aftermarket wing and I have found one for a NB.
Would it fit my car? C4S 997.1

I love the 997.2 GT3 tail and would love to fit one to my ride but cant seem to find.

Someone else who knows should chime in, but I'd be more afraid of a .1 to .2 compatibility than NB vs WB

It's all about personal choice.
It's your car. Do what you like .

The part I found Fits 05-09 and I emaile dthem to ask and they said It
is for the NB and wont fit the WB, BUt im not sure If that is the case?

So i put the question to the forum.
I honestly don't believe Porsche would go to the extra expense of making 2 different deck lids

There is no difference between WB and NB decklids. They are exactly the same. However, there is a difference between 997.1 vs 997.2 lids.

Decklids are the same between NB and WB. Quarter panels are different

Now that's a wing. You would think it could fly!

Was this from the infamous Porsche bombing run that quickly brought WW III to a close?

Also of note, the oversize rear wheel on the Cayman.
