always confused why some people equate aerokits & wings on 911 as "poser" turbo or gt-models. Porsche 911 entire history has offered some form of aero option direct from the factory. 80's 911 had option whale-tail w/ front air dam/apron at a point in time when GT* did not exist although there was turbo model then. to me its like saying a gt3 is a "poser" gt3 rs and a gt3 rs is a "poser" cup car and so forth... both aero and non-aero can represent a "classic" look for 911 if done tastefully. if you want low-key daily driver limit the aero, if you want something with a little more flash or high speed stability add some aero... regardless of price-tag rank in the 911 lineup there are examples of aero option throughout the 911's evolution... if Porsche put the R&D into developing aerokits for the entire 911 range how is that "posing", the Turbo itself has an aerokit option, so find it odd that some enthusiasts don't know this and assume aerokit = poser gt/turbo car... pic attached is factory aerokit cup

Wings are so personal like anything else. In my opinion the only decent looking wing on the 997 is the 997.2 GT3 wing. The example above of a gt4 like looking wing is also a little intriguing but a little large for my taste (from the limited pictures) unless it was my track car, same with the 997.1 cup wing

some great pics in this thread. like many, i go back/forth. on the one hand, i like my wife's black 997 the way it is. on the other hand, i think my plat silver really needs something on the back. and on the other other hand, i really don't like the what the lifted grate looks either still or in motion. so, my preference was to ducktail mine. wife definitely prefers the black in its original form.

Not gt4 like looking wing, it is the Porsche factory Aerokit Cup (option XAA) on 997.2, both the picture of car on bricks and car in city have same wing. That particular wing style/shape was introduced in 2005 for new Carrera 997.1 model and a similar version used on 997.1 gt3. From low angle photos the wing looks much "taller" than it really is in person, see avatar pic to gauge its height in relation to roofline

ya. For some reason it is really hard to visualize from the pictures. Never seen this option before. Interesting. You running a cup front splitter?

Back on topic, its funny to see the differing opinions on this topic. Im not a ducktail or big wing. But the TT, Aero and Misha appeal to me.

Here's mine with Aerokit from the factory.

I like having the wing on a weekend - special occasion car.

For a daily driver I'd want no wing. (probably not florescent blue either!)

There is something intriguing about this set up. I was reading if you months ago about people with the GT3 RS 991 and how some of them were interested in the idea of taking off the wing to get a similar look as the 911R and then installing the wing when they go to the track or go to a show or feel like they want a more aggressive look.

on your car it looks like if you took the wing off there is still a little bit of a wing and it would provide probably as much or similar downforce to the stock spoiler when it goes up. Do you have any more information about your set up?

I have noticed that the factory aero wing setup channels more engine noise into the cabin. Not sure if it is because if the open intake or the wing reflecting noise back.

Also, since we're asking about that GT4 setup that JuanK20 has, is that wing (top blade) adjustable for the rake?

Yes you can dismount the top wing blade and the uprights to leave a ducktail look. I've done it. Don't have any pictures tho.

The top blade is slightly adjustable. See pic
