So I posted about trading my Viper GTS for a 996tt or 997...well I drove an 07 CS yesterday and LOVED it! Plenty of room. The sales guy..or a Global Ambassador...sat in the front..he's about 6'4 and I'm 6'. My wife fit behind him and my daughter behind me...was SHOCKED!!!
Was much quicker then I was expecting. Very well appointed and really quiet even in "sport" mode.
So, I bought it...now have a one car garage and two toy cars...The Viper needs a new home and hoping it goes VERY soon as I REALLY want to use the cash to pay the 997.. Luckily a friend offered a garage bay for a while if need be..
So here she is....07 Carrera S, 3 pedals with 54k miles and the 60k service already done. Full records and paint and interior are perfect.
Aero kit and turbo wheels. Good find indeed. I also had a high car, a 600 hp CTSV coupe with some mods but like the 911 better for its overal package and feel. Much more fun on a twisty road.
Congrats! I held off test-driving one of these until I was reasonably ready to purchase because I knew I'd end up doing what you did and buy something. I actually did NOT buy the first one that I drove, but it wasn't due to a lack of trying. If they had given me something even halfway reasonable for my trade, it would have been a done deal, but they fed me line after line after line about why they could't make me a real offer, so I walked. I then ended up doing exactly what you did, and found another car that I liked even better than the one I test drove, and bought it without trading in my other Porsche. So I carried two sports cars for about a week or so before finally sold the other one.
Sorry for the long story. Just wanted you to know you aren't alone in being crazy. When you find the one, sometimes you have to jump on it even before you're technically ready. You'll sell your Viper in due time I'm sure. Have fun in the new ride!
