Stereo/Navagation Unit Upgrade
Just picked up an 08 997, I was wondering what people are updating their stereo/navagations units with?
Sorry I did a forum search and didn't find anything
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

You are wading into waters filled with nuance, religion, and a bit of fact. The search tool is your friend. Plenty out there. Do your research, then post a specific question. Keep in close mind, you have a PCM2 system and what options you have with it.

You'll get lots of opinions and options from this forum. You need to be specific on what you are trying to do and at what price point. Some members prefer the rev of the engine over the stereo, others think the OEM system is fine, some have replaced the speakers, while others do a complete rebuild of their entertainment system. Keep in mind you have a PCM which makes it challenging to work together with other components. As you can see, it’s a very personal thing.
I went whole hog on my upgrade. I wanted an updated navigation system, ipod connectivity, touch screen interface, bluetooth, as well as better quality sound.
Here is some food for thought if you want to do a complete rebuild:

Look around the forum and you will find information on speaker upgrades and upgrading components.
Good luck!

AVIC 4200 plus a NAVTV Most kit and an amp, leave speakers alone. This seems easiest route for a CarPlay to have and to finally hold system.
