Lightbulb 997.2 Tail Lights - Reverse bulb to LED?

Hi All,

Has anyone changed their reverse bulbs to LED's on a 997.2? I took a tail light off and apart and could not figure out what kind of bulb it was and how it connected/dis-connected.

Pictures attached...any insight is greatly appreciated. Please send a link to the LED bulbs you purchased (without any errors) if you did this...

Thanks in advance!

It appears it could be a 1156 bulb... Check this out.

That is what I ordered were 7506/1156 LED bulbs, but when I got the tail apart the socket metal base on the 1156 LED was way too big for the OEM bulb housing...

Also, anyone know if there is a trick to remove the OEM bulb in the last 2 pics? The bulb almost appeared attached/part of the white base? But that doesn't make sense because then you could not change out a bulb...

it looks like your socket has contacts for 2 prongs, a 1156 has 1 prong but it looks like you have 2 pics of 2 different sockets, so dont know where to start

Same socket; just a pic of the front and back...agree two contact points, just unsure if the black plastic is part of the bulb or socket...

Were you able to determine if the white plastic socket is one with the black plastic surrounding the OEM bulb?

This is interesting...please chime in if you have any info

Reviving an old thread.
Has anyone tried these (or something similar) for reverse lights?

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082HK33V3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2TDYJQNSJC19Q&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082HK33V3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2TDYJQNSJC19Q&psc=1

Sylvania says its a 7506 bulb so this should fit but I just don't want error codes.

Thx

They claim to be Error free. I may actually try these myself. I'm already running the Dectane tails with zero errors.

I wrote this awhile back when I converted all my bulbs to LEDs. They’re a great reference for bulb size and led equivalents.

I wound up buying these. I can vouch that the are CAN bus error-free bulbs. They work great. Only issue I had was that one was bad. I told Amazon and they sent me a new set that work fine and have been on for a year now.
