C4 is back for a day.....now WTF!?
When sitting/driving in the car -- now smells like some sort of strange chemical and electrical fire, the only thing it smells like to me is carburetor cleaner like we used to use on our off-road trucks, burning Band-Aids is the only way I can describe the smell and it's only inside the car while you're driving like something's on fire but no smoke and the smell is purely chemical or electrical just awful.
It was in the body shop receiving wheels and tires and a suspension check after a fender bender. They delivered it.
Last what the F!?

I'll pull codes again when they all pop back up. Dealer/body shop delayed delivery due to a CEL which cleared and shortly reappeared after delivery. That is some gnats electrical chemical stink......I put the windows down and left it there after clearing codes.

Dude I thought the buildings all around me had been painted.....the smell is coming from the subwoofer. Maybe that amp went? When I turn off the car lately it thumps and crap - all from the lo fraequncies . Makes me think somebody Fd up back there when my Getty GT2 wing was put on....I found the old lifting wires spaghetti'd up. Never been a problem thus far.

So, it is either a failing head unit or maybe the amp that pushes the sub. I doubt that anyone doing mechanical work could have done something to make this happen.
One way to diagnose, is pull the sub out and disconnect it. If the head unit is failing, you will hear the same artifacts in the large door speaker as well... the sub may be overwhelming your senses and you are unaware of what is going from these speakers. If the sound is clean, it is probably your sub amp unit.

Bruce I believe you are absolutely correct.
Could the capacitors blow in the sub and smell?
I left windows down and smellnis gone now BUT I didn't run it and rather took my x5......

This is a whole new kind of weird stink, but it's gone, not sure how you shut down the amp but I'll try.
PCM failing idk how you ascertain that. Likely cheaper to ditch it all then have Porsche work on it.

Bose system has a separate amplifier for the subwoofer built into the enclosure. If you want to rule that out you can disconnect that whole assembly and take it out of the car.

That is the ticket. The other thing that bugs me is how when the Getty wing was installed, GT2 style, the way they left the wiring cut off and zip tied from the former auto lifting wing-- I'm not sure what's going on back there. Possible baked wires shorting. I'll remove the sub and assembly.

Pretty sure there is supposed to be something that plugs into the harness when a fixed wing is added so that an error code is not generated. Sounds like your body shop is full of hacks all sround.

Actually, you just go into the coding menus and select the fixed wing option. If there are remaining microswitches in the harness, they may need to be wire tied in the closed position too. When I made my fixed RUF wing active aero, I had to do that, but opposite.
