Just finished a 1400 mile drive picking up my 997 GTS from PHX to SJC. 2nd 500+ mile road trip in my life and I'm doing it in a unknown car with centerlock wheels through LA and Norcal.
I would say the lack of a spare really dogged my mind for the entire trip, I'm always looking for something in front to avoid. I wouldn't want to do that again without something better than 2 bottles of fix it flat. Hell I don't even feel safe driving on the 101 in NorCal.
My idea so far is a roof basket, with a spare front, and a torque wrench for longer trips. Love all of your inputs.
Buy the 996/boxster spare, it fits in the frunk. I have one but rarely use it. Will throw it in the frunk when I make a Seattle to San Diego trip via highway 1 this summer.
