Porsche of Arlington in Va has a nice 2009 911 C4S cab for sale. I've been over to look at it, but not driven it.

One other piece of advice -- budget some extra dollars for service/upgrades/changes. I recently bought a 997 C4S with low miles that was in great shape. Yet, somehow, I have still spent extra $$$ on it since I bought it! (I knew it needed new tires, but I decided I couldn't live with the stock stereo/PCM and now I really need wheel spacers.)

One year ago, purchased a base 2009 Carrera (Black Standard Leather, Manual transmission) with the following options: Self Dimming Mirrors, Heated Seats, Bluetooth, Sport Chrono Package Plus (virtually useless IMO), BOSE Sound Package, 6-Disc CD/DVD Changer, and Floor Mats.
Price (including CPO!) was $48,000 + tax/license/etc. It was a one owner car and had 40,593 miles. Since my previous 996 had suffered IMS failure, I only considered CPO cars. Check the Porsche website http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-custo...arch.ipl?cid=1 if you want to go that route.

Best of luck

09 seems like a solid year car to me, I really enjoy my 997.2 base, to find one nicely optioned under 50k is hard, mostly because of Porsche's extremely expensive options list, which may or not suit your tastes, for me lower miles and PDK were more important than all those extras.

Just to add to what others have said, you should be able to find a nice 2009-2010 with ~50k miles for your budget. Most likely a base model.

I chose a base over an S because I didn't think the S was worth the $10k plus - especially since I don't track. I wouldn't be afraid of higher mileage as long as all maint was documented. Some in that price range may have lower miles and less options and some may have higher miles and better options, you should be able to find something if youre willing to sacrifice something (S or miles or options) or be willing to spend more.

Good luck!

Brian, as I mentioned in my texts, my car meets your needs and its pristine - at the lower than my auto trader price :-) and now you know me a little bit better ;-)
Indeed your car does meet my criteria, unfortunately we are cross country journeymen. Love the combo of your car!

Thanks to everyone for the input and guidance, patience will be the key in this process.

Luckie as a data point, I found my 2010 997.2 on cargurus.com at a Porsche dealer in LA.

2010 C2 PDK Cab and heavily optioned for $46k
1 owner car bought and traded back in to the same dealership
2 year CPO
65k miles
Basalt Black with full black leather
Full maintenance records all performed at the same dealership
No issues, everything worked
Upon my inspection looked absolutely like new to me

Rod,
Thanks for the data point and thats kind of what I've found, pricing around the country has varied but cars are available if you can find the right combo. Thanks for stopping in on the thread and I look forward to joining you owners in the near future.

Just purchased a 09 C2S Cab CPO 1 owner. 6 speed, sport chrono, adaptive sport seats, 16K miles, 1 owner, clean, new tires, 40K service (by time), etc etc. $57k. To be in the mid 40s going to need to go 50k+ miles ish or base model from my recent research.

This is more what I'm seeing. No way you can find a 09 S cab for mid to high 40s...if so it probably would have 70 -80k miles. What I'm seeing is you can find a decent 09 base for high 40s, for anything S you'll be looking into mid 50s, high 50s for CPO.

High mileage shouldn't be an issue if maintained properly. Or, you could also get a rather loaded 08 S. Sounds better and all issues with IMS is pretty much non issue in 07+
