Default Replacement tow hook

Was looking to see how old my can of tire sealant is and while in the frunk noticed that the tow hook is missing from my car. Seems like something pretty important to have just in case.

Suncoast sells the Porsche brand for $36...anyone know if there are cheaper options?

Also check sunset parts. But $36 for anything Porsche OEM is pretty cheap IMO.

What was the expiration date of your sealant - that will be pricier than the tow hook to replace.

The 996 version is a few bucks less. It does have a longer threaded portion but I would think it would work as well.

looks like Nov 2006, which would make sense since car was built in Dec 2006 and I figured previous owner never replaced it.

And you are right that the sealant will be more expensive...but also looking to upgrade to the clear sidemarkers and the LED interior kit so just trying to minimize the total.

I may have taken the tow hook out and forgot to put it back. Last fall I got a car stuck in the mud by my barn...had to tow it out with my CR-V...just can't recall if it was the 911 or the M5. Will have to go look in the barn tonight.

Bottom line is need to have a tow hook in case I get into a situation where I need to flat bed it. That trumps the side markers and LED lighting :-(

Better check the size and pitch of the threads before buying one or another

+1. Porsche uses a funky super coarse thread on all of their tow hooks...something you won't find at Lowe's or Home Depot.
