Default Is there a guide somewhere that shows what OEM wheels fit different 911s?

I'm interested in another wheel set for winter wheels and tires, and I'm not sure what wheels fit what 911s. For instance, do 991 wheels fit 997? Do you have to buy wide body wheels since I have a C4S, or will narrow body wheels fit? Stuff like that. I did a search but couldn't find much.

Thanks!

Wheel hub mounting points are the same for nearly all modern Porsches - 71.6mm center bore, 5x130mm bolt pattern. I say nearly simply because centerlocks are different of course, and there are probably exceptions if you go back a few series. So 996/997/986/987/991 wheels all share the same hub mounting pattern.

The next issue is offsets. Your car is a WB so let's only talk your case. Also assume for a second that wheel widths are the same (same style comparison, just WB vs. NB). Within the 997 series WB and NB cars have the same front offset so fronts are completely interchangeable. To get flush in front the spacer thickness would be the same - in the range of 7mm to 12mm/15mm depending upon your car's alignment and ride height. But to stay at OEM offsets no spacer is needed and the wheels are interchangeable.

Rears are different offsets though but can be solved with spacers to get back to stock flushness. NB wheels on a WB car need at least 15mm in the rear to fit. This is the difference between stock WB rear offsets and stock NB rear offsets (it's actually 16mm but spacers are easier to find in 15mm sizes). To go flush you need even more spacer - 15mm for WB wheels on a WB car, or 30mm TOTAL with NB wheels on a WB car. 295's vs 305's tires in the rear matter a little bit too as the shoulder is a bit more square on 305's depending upon the width of the wheel it's mounted on.

So if you want to be at stock offsets, a NB wheel set fits on a WB car with no spacers in front and 15mm spacers in back. If you want to be flush to the fender, NB fronts with 7mm/12mm/15mm spacers and NB rears with 30mm spacers on a WB car will get you there. Or WB fronts with 7mm/12mm/15mm and WB rears with 15mm spacers on a WB car will get you there.

Once you start looking outside the 997 series or if you are comparing different diameters or widths it's better to go to an online calculator to see what spacer size you need. Compare the new wheels to your current ones at someplace like http://www.willtheyfit.com/ to calculate what spacer size you will need to get back your original wheel's flushness, or to go further out to be flush with the fender. Generally Boxster wheels are narrower in the rear at around 9" whereas 997's are around 11". 996 are close if not the same widths as the 997 series (but uglier in my opinion). 991's are 20" which fit but might look off due to their diameters being larger (disclaimer here - I'm not positive on offset differences though, use the calculators to confirm). More info than you wanted I'm sure but covers most of the follow on questions.

TL;DR: yes most wheels are interchangeable but will require spacers in nearly all cases. Use the online calculators to confirm.

Exception to this is the Macan, which uses a 5x112 hole pattern. Not sure why they made this one application different from almost all other Porsches, but thought you should be aware.

Probably because it's based on the Audi A4.
