PPI / PDK Issues

refurbished? 2 year warranty? pretty penny for all that. I wonder what refurbishing was done, and also wondering if local shops will get the expertise to refurbish these. I heard the vw tranny is quite similar (parts/function). that seems a little skimpy on warranty too

I would highly recommend shifting your car out of sport plus during the cool down lap at the track. It will lower the temp of the trans/PDK and help preserve the internal plates.

I switch from Sport+ to Sport on the cool down lap and then after I come off track a ways, I come to s stop long enough for my Solo DL / SCHD to terminate the session. Then I switch Sport off and drive out of the track onto a rural two lane, leaving the tranny cooler pump on and drive at 55-60mph in 6th for 5 - 7 miles until oil temp on the dash is back around 200. Then switch the pump off, stop to get enough gas for the next session and drive back to the track. Thought process is doing this should reduce heat soak a whole bunch. At least I hope it does!

Always buy Porsche certified
Always buy Porsche certified. Don't trust someone to have taken care of a Porsche perfectly. Now you know it never pays to do that (sorry). Not when your getting a Porsche. Parts are too expensive. If you have to budget down and get a "as-is" vehicle, it's definitely a risky investment like with low grade stocks and bonds - it may crash. Porsche deserves a blue chip investment because it's so expensive to maintain if you have chosen wrong - if you can't buy certified, you should probably consider a brand that is "easier" on the Wallet to fix up.
