Does your DFI engine sounds like this?
I'm mostly unfamiliar with how 997.2's are supposed to sound, so can you comment on my base Carrera? Have a look at this video, just trying to ensure the different sounds are "normal" (valve train, exhaust pulses, etc). The car is healthy (no CEL's, burns no oil). X-pipe (no center muffler). The reason I ask is that it sounds quite a bit different then my previous 911 (a 996 Turbo, but completely different engines obviously).

2009 C2S with Sharkwerks center muffler delete. Sounds just like that at idle. Given that this is my first Porsche it took some getting used to for me to not think there was something wrong with the engine given none of my prior vehicles made a similar sound. Sounds normal to me.

adnan: engine thoroughly warmed, sitting at idle (sitting in the car) how smooth is the idle?
my idle actually smoothed out a smidgen when I changed plugs at 58k. my idle is throbby, but smooth and extremely consistent. if you have a smoooooth idle, that's a healthy engine.
just a shade tree observation, but worth a lot and telling in my book

Turbo motors sound considerably different due to the exhaust sound being muted by going through the turbos and then you also hear the high frequency whistle or whine from the turbos themselves. Yours sounds normal for a DFI car.
