Any high altitude 997 owners out there

No doubt the 997 is a wonderful car and a joy to drive almost independent of how "fast" it is- the entire reason I am here. But it sounds like you aren't at altitude. Come up to Denver and tell me "there is no comparison to the 997" after I pull you in every possible scenario with my S4. That's what I'm looking for.
I drove my 2013 S4 with a stage 1 tune and TCU tune, Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, eurocode front and rear sways, drive train stabilizer, AWE exhaust, forged wheels and a stop tech big brake kit for 2.5 years. In the year I've owned the 997 there is no comparison and I've never looked back.
If I was taking a trip to the Swiss Alps, say the Furka Pass, I would take my stock (for now

I'll take a Porsche any day for that drive (and I have, twice)!

Without ever driving a performance car at higher altitudes I can still make a few assumptions. One, more power is seldom a bad thing. I rather have it on tap and ready to go, than wish my car was faster. That being said, Quiverkiller should buy a Porsche with the most hp he can afford. A 997.1 or .2 turbo should fit the bill well. All wheel drive and all the power you need. Win win.

Here in my corner of Canada we don’t have much and live in mud huts, but we do have exceptionally fine premium 94 octane gasoline made from only the best dead dinosaurs, without any whiff of corny stuff. Elegantly dressed sommeliers carefully pour the nectar into the gas tank from beautiful cut crystal carafes at our gas stations by the way.

I FINALLY had the chance to drive a 997 C2S here in Denver. Really clean car, 30k mi, a 2005. Great car with all the wonderful 911 handling characteristics, but my butt dyno was really disappointed. Got back in my S4 and it felt twice as fast.
I'll still likely trade the S4 for a nice 997 C4S when the right one comes along, but it just won't be because its fast.

I still think you should drive a turbo for comparison....

Definitely a more fair comparison, though a turbo is out of my range so I don't see much of a point in it.
That's not a bad idea either. When are those going to be 50k :-)
