True. Especially not being able to drive it because you were having a new engine put in it, and know there's no way you're ever going to get anywhere close to right-side up selling it. I am thankful I did get the itch enough to test-drive a 997.2 and 991.1, because they're awesome cars and I'd be proud to own one, but they're just a little smoother and quieter than I like in a sports car, which is why I decided to put the money into an engine on the old one rather than depreciation on a newer one. I've owned and driven this car every day for 7 years and still look forward to it each morning and afternoon.

agreed with the OP. took the car out for 100 miles this morning to see a client.

even in todays hot weather , the car felt rock solid, with plenty of power.

also amazing to note is that it's temp sits just a hair above 200F cruising at 75-80mph even though it was hot as hell outside... although in heavy stop-go traffic the gas milage is crap.

overall, an awesome car.

It may not be the best car.
But it is the car I love.
Fast enough.
Loud enough.
Grindy brakes enough.
Thump over crappy roads enough.
Checks all the boxes.

Do I want a Tesla? No, I don't want to drive an iPad.

Or the iPad driving you. Everything is about auto pilot these days.

7 years with the 997S - fits like an old leather glove. If I ever get another Porsche it will be a 997 - for me it's greatest series created from Porsche.

911's are great in any year and have the DNA other cars try to emulate but come up way short. That said, there is a significant upgrade in quality of living with the birth of the water cooled 911. Gadgets come and go but the the modern water cooled 911s have everything you will ever need in a serious drivers sports car cementing them as never being outdated IMO. The sound of the PSE and sexy 6 engine blows any V8 noise out of the water.

Oh yeah, me too. I've only owned mine for 14 months, but I've put 10k miles on it in that time. That includes two trips down the Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to the SF Bay Area which was pure bliss. My sig pic was taken on the Avenue of the Giants which California guys probably know of.

I just had the IMS solution installed which was my only concern about the car. So now, it's just drive it and enjoy it. Maybe some new wheels when these tires wear out...

My only complaint is that I don't get to drive enough it in the manor it was intended to be driven.

Then, you get a puncture and cannot replace your Pilot Super Sport tire for over a month due to low supply... you get to drive other cars and brands for a while before finding a tire and getting your car back. OH BOY, do I LOVE THIS CAR! It seriously is amazing... feels great, handles amazing, works perfectly, sounds fantastic, is freakingly fast, and is easy and a blast to drive.

I LOVE THIS CAR! Anyone else?
