as I mentioned earlier, it will be a few months before we start tearing everything apart. I need my Audi back from the shop before the 997 can go in.

In the meantime, I ordered a GT3RS 997.1 wing and decklid. Its going to take a bit of work to make it work with the C4s, but shouldnt be too hard. The wing arrived today. Also ordered a Fabspeed dual intake. I dont think it will add any performance (lucky if it doesnt lose any,) but I had to modify the intake setup to work with the GT3RS decklid, as the air vents are at the rear. The Fabspeed was the closest I could find to line the filters up with the decklid openings.

Crazy looking build so far! Any concerns with the front bumper not being flared out enough to match the front fenders?

Also are you v8a6 on Audizine? That signature looks familiar

thanks!

Yup, v8a6 is me too.

I have the cup front lip, so I think it should balance nicely. I also considered air guides, like these from EB Werks, to balance out the front

There are also some cheaper plastic ones that you can get. I have to see how everything looks first though, before I see if this is needed.

Great to see we are contributing to the build! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. Gorgeous car and look forward to the finished product!

Nothing significant to report, unfortunately.

The 997 cant go into the shop until I have my other project car back (Audi S6.) And the S6 has a misfire issue they havent been able to sort out. So, the 997 is seeing another winter...

Since that pic was taken, I have sold the turbo decklid, and temporarily gone back to stock. Just fixed the horn on the 997.2 steering wheel, with a new control module. Also did a new starter, which fixed the slow turnover when starting a warm car.

Decided against the 18 inch HRE wheels. As much as I love them, I think they would look too small on the widebody build. They are up for sale, and I purchased a few sets of 19/20 3pc wheels, and will decide soon which ones to use.

Finally.... an update!!!

The waterpump decided to blow up one freezing morning this week. So, with the car at the shop, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the performance parts installed.

RSS Tarmac kit, RSS sway bars, Bilstein coilovers, RSS motor mounts, Fabspeed intake, and AWE headers/cats installed. Also, a new waterpump, spark plugs, coolant tank, and coil packs.

Sorry for the dirty car pics, as the trip to the garage was unplanned (still running the winter wheels!)

And a video of the new exhaust

Tomorrow they will do the alignment, setup to GT3 specs.

Still waiting on some parts for the clutch and LWFW, so that will be another week or two.

Been following since the beginning and love this build so far. Not outrageous but almost all performance!

Please post your before/after opinion on the LWFW. I also have a 997.1 C4S and was advised against LWFW by Sharkwerks, so curious how it works out for you.

Definitely will do. However, my opinion may be a bit bias, as I love the LWFW feel, having them on other cars before.

Also, I find it VERY surprising that Sharkwerks advised against it to you. Was it Alex? Because in the following thread, where the OP raves about the mod, Alex chimes in and says of the LWFW, "On any NA 911 it's my favorite mod too". Then he later posts that he has installed it on four of his own cars, including two 996s, a Cayman, and a 997 GT3RS.

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...led-today.html

Why specifically did they advise against it?

I think your car looks bad without the tail. Big mistake, total failure and a banning offense.

Hahaha. Let me know when you have more leftover parts for sale
