I just finished installing a Gundo Hack/ Fister muffler mod. I had a local guy do the mod. Sounds awesome on a 997.2. As expected, I'm sure I'll get used to the sound. It's sound s like stock under 3k RPM, sounds great starting up and when you get on the throttle.

I've heard multiple Porsche sport exhaust at track days from 991, 981, 997 etc. and this hack is sound just as good.

BTW, I spent $150 for a guy to weld. I installed the cans myself.

3series, that's probably the best bang for buck out there, for sound. I also want the albeit slight hp gain and the (hopefully) warm/fuzzy feeling of renewing old parts which may also improve performance.
I changed the plugs at 60k and believe the idle has been smoothed a little, which was a nice feeling, that I participated in the car's health.

What size pipe did you use? I know typically it's 1"-2".

2" pipe. I've been running this car for a couple years now and it's a refreshing low cost change. I've heard so many sport exhaust sounds at the track I never really understood why it cost so much or what all the gaga was about. The sport exhaust sounds little better than stock but nothing compared to the all out race cars and track cars. I wish there was some sort of Y pipe damper that I could open for a track day and close for the street. Basically a Sport Exhaust on steroids. I'm sure something exists or could be fabricated.
