Hmm, I have been looking for a newer P car . The dealer almost always has the service records, the car fax, and the DME report ready to view. If they don't have it, they will get it.
Personally, I would move on to another dealer.

Whats odd is the the sales guy says the service dept charges him to do it....ITS THE SAME PLACE......the same owner, so its silly to even tell me that. Are the service depts and sales depts in fights with each other or something? I could see say 25 dollars or so....but 200 for a five minute procedure?

I could understand a nominal fee to complete a PPI, but never just a DME report. Did you ask what all was included for the $200?

Couple of thoughts. I have no problem paying for a PPI on a car im seriously interested in. On the same note, I leery of getting a PPI from the same place that is selling the vehicle. But I also got a negative PPI from a service department of a Land Rover one time. I let them fight about it.

With a Porsche being sold at a dealership in my area, I would expect them to do at least a DME report if I put money down a car. If they refuse, there is something wrong and they might not be able to CPO the car. Everybody knows its a quick, easy thing to do.

It's an 2008 so no CPO. They have offered one year engine and power train warrenty. That's good. I'm in DC and its in NY so I would have to buy without seeing it. I could drive up to see it but my moms 83 bday is this week and that's in WV way on the other side. Just not enough time to sell current car, make loan, buy the car, ship it or drive down and make it to WV
