Default To tint or not

to tint??
I'm in sunny and hot central Texas. Although my new-to-me 997.1 spends most of the time indoors, it gets pretty hot inside while out driving.
What reasons have you chosen 'not' to tint your windows, if you haven't?

That's why I got a cab. Actually in NJ it's a no-no to tint. No windshield or front window tints. On hot days, nothing like putting the top down AND running the AC full blast.

I can't see why you would not tint the windows. You can choose film with virtually no tint that still blocks UV rays. This will keep your car cooler while driving and help resist fading by the sun. Front windows generally cannot be tinted but I'd tint all the other windows for the reasons stated above. It makes a big difference in all of my cars.

I don't like dark tint period and I also don't like UV so I installed Suntek CXP 80, an almost invisible tint that block 99% of the UV and 50% of the heat. So far so good, I like it

I haven't tinted because I loath dark windows and guess I have adjusted to clear over the years. I live in parts of CA where we go over 100deg sometimes over 20 days straight in summer and always found the AC does the job.

But after reading some posts here I didn't realize you could get almost clear tint that blocks UV? Going to look into that!

Because of the auto dimming mirrors option, I went through my first year of ownership without tints. I changed my mind after the second year and couldnt be happier with the results. I went with 35% all around.

Tint it. I live in DFW, got my car tinted at Boardwalk Ferrari about a year and change ago. Max legal tint all around & Huper Optik on windshield. Couldn't be happier. Heat rejection is awesome. Car much cooler. Also, think it looks bad a$$ with my black wheels.

I just had mine tinted a few weeks ago.....35% all around. Not too dark, just perfect. Also if your interior is black, the tint will look a little darker so if your worried about going to dark then go with the higher percentage tint
(35% or even 50%).

Definitely tint, especially if you're in a hot climate

My car lives in the south so tinting is required to save the interior. I like the looks of a 35% tint on a black metallic car.

IMO the dark tint does not look classy--looks more street. Not exactly a Pebble Beach look.

I will probably end up doing a slight tint or a clear tint for UV reasons. None on it now.

I actually put 35% tints on my car and thought it looked really bad. Removed them after a few days.

I also hate the way the the tint is separated from the edge of the windows due to the dot matrix.

At the end of the day it's a personal choice. Do it if it makes you happy.
