Default Rear Seat Delete

I did a search, and couldn't find anything definitive, but maybe I failed.

Has anyone deleted the rear seat, and then put the GT3/RS rear carpet in? I'm looking for a finished look. Are there other options available? Please educate me on this!

Start here from the DIY thread list: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...at-delete.html

The biggest difference with the NA 997 and GT3 rear seat area is the seat belts. Removing them are easy enough. But the c-pillar trim will still have the seat belt opening. You could source the GT3 c-pillar trim or leave the holes as-is. The rest of the seat hardware removes easily enough.

The rear carpet unfortunately is badged for a GT3 by default. Not sure if you could find it without the badge though.

Thanks!

I definitely don't want it to say GT3 on my rear carpet, but I guess there are worse things.

I'm debating the merits of removing the rear seats. They're basically only good in a pinch, and I have the sport buckets, so I don't really want people back there scuffing them up anyway.

Yeah, but you know how it is... if it's an option, people always assume it's available. "Oh... you have four seats, let's just go with you..."

you could just fold them down and call it a day - if somebody looks in the rear no seats

I was thinking the same, or just take out the cushion. Look no seats, you'll have to take your own car or walk.

I like that line of thinking.

yes I did it on a 996 and 997, you just buy the main carpet piece, it has no holes,
the 1/4 panels have some holes for the seat mechanism, you can find some plugs to fill them or you can recover the whole 1/4 with leather or vinyl.
the C pillar trim for the seat belt can be replaced with the gt3 blank panel.

Thanks for the post. I was just searching how to remove the rear belts. I managed to find a set of GT3 Blank c pillars for the swap.

Seat bottoms are held by velcro so just pull.
Fold down rear seat backs and say they're a second level parcel shelf.
