Default 997 Diffential Adjusting shims needed

Installing a Quaife differential and don't want to buy the full shim kits from Porsche for around $600 for both sides. Anyone know a shop that may have a few shims laying around? Anyone have some left over they want to sell? If not I will have a few for sale after I install if anyone is interested at about half the price of the new kit minus one or two shims.

Part numbers: 997.332.266.00 (1.02-1.86 shim kit) right side
Part numbers: 997.332.268.00 (0.92-1.76 shim kit) left side

Anyone know if 997 is interchangeable with 996? Porsche sells the 996 shims separately.

Did you install the quaife?
How do you like it. I have one that I got for a good deal and can't decide if I should install it.
Can't find alot of info of people installing them.
What shims did you find.

Yes I installed the Quaife Diff. Love it for spirited street driving. If I had to do it again I would have gone with the OS Giken as they don't require shims and the clutch style diffs are better for track use. I was in the same position as you where I had a Quaife fall on my lap for free. The OS Giken can be installed without the need for shims. If you have the Quaife you will need shims. I have both left and right side shim kits (special ordered from Porsche) $475 each side total $950 for the both sides. I used only 3 shims out of the kit. If you want to install the Quaife I can send you the shim kit and you can use whatever shims you need and send me back the rest for a small fee. Cheers
