Is it possible to change some of the settings for the TPMS control system without fully disabling it? My aftermarket sensors are reading low, which sets off a false warning on the instrument cluster.
I just want to disable the TPMS warning light without actually disabling the ability to see/monitor the pressure.
There are about a dozen TPMS messages that can be displayed. It might be possible to turn off displaying just the one message in question with Durametric, but leaving the rest of the system and message intact. Not entire sure which one it is though. Look here and search the spreadsheet for RDK (Reifendruckkontrolle, german for TPM).
Actually, there is a way to manipulate the TPMS pressure warning thresholds, and you don't even need to program anything with a cable! If you look at the end of the manual, there is a chart of pressure vs. tire size and load:
You can see, that if you select 18" tires, the thresholds drop by 6 PSI, if you went from fully loaded 19" tires to partially loaded 18" tires.
The real question is if changing these "tire settings" in the TPMS routine interacts with PASM or PSM. My guess is, probably not, since these are likely all separately designed and engineered modules that can't rely on some user changeable setting for the reliability of a life-saving stability system.
