Default Illuminated CF Door Sills

I saw these carbon fiber door sills on Suncoast this evening when I was buying the map update for my 2010 C4S Cab and they look pretty nice. At $829.95 for illuminated and $519.95 for non-illuminated, these seem very reasonably priced versus what MACarbon sells. Has anyone installed these? I'm wondering about the fit & finish of these as well as how complicated the electrical connection is for a DIY install ..... Has anyone bought these or seen them installed?

Here's the link to Suncoast for the illuminated sills: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X7CFDSI.html

I have the illuminated CF option from the factory on my 997. It's very nice and it appears to be quite durable.

Dang, those look great. You've inspired me with that pic, so I just pulled the trigger on a set of the CF illuminated "Carrera 4S" sills on Suncoast while they're on sale. It should give me a good July DIY install project when they arrive

I have the factory aluminum illuminated sills and they add a little je ne sais quoi - makes getting in and out of the car just a little more special.

Looks like a Jerry Jones retrofit. His specialty is Mercedes. I've been very happy with the ones he did for me (blue S target than red). Simple installation.

Here are the aluminum ones from the factory. They are a nice touch and if I didn't have them I'd want to retrofit them.

That's a sweet look ..... Are your gauges and door sills backlit in blue, or is that just the way the picture was taken? I see what looks like white light in the footwell but the rest looks blue (which is very cool, by the way)

Thank you - I think that is just how the photo turned out. I have not changed any interior bulbs, but it's interesting how the IP lights have a blue-ish hue while the footwell and door light are closer to their actual colors.

Agree.

And now I know how to spell that.

I also like the foot well and door pocket lighting. I don't think I would have added these if I bought the car new, but they are a nice to have when there is limited lighting in the garage or outside.

I will be interested in how hard they were to install. Suncoast seems to recommend a 'professional install' I can't imagine it requires that silly Porsche coding to work...?

Well, I just got an e-mail from Suncoast saying they won't be shipped until August 11th so I'll have some time to develop my cunning plan for my DIY install! I'll let you guys know how it goes once I get them

Out of curiousity where are you going to get the NAV update?
Every dealer I have talked to here in Chicago seems to shy away from it-at least with me.

Unfortunately, only the Stealership can do the Nav installation, so I'm booked with the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park (I'm in Glencoe so it's just up the road). They said it should be $189. I drop it off Sunday evening as I head out of town for a few days so they can do it while I'm on the road. I also checked with Loeber Porsche in Lincolnwood who also quoted roughly the same ($185)...
