Replace spring loaded shifter cable connections?
With my numeric racing shifter in and the console out I can see where the shift lever previously war quite a bit on the cup it snaps into on both cable ends. Would replacing these make it any smoother to shift? I've noticed on the 1-2 shift that sometimes the shifter ball cup with the spring on it will twist a bit. The cups on mine are actually quite worn from the previous short shifter.

From what ive read, when replacing the cables, the majority of the labor is removing what you have already removed. With that said, if its a few hundred for the cables, I would do it in a heartbeat, considering you have already found significant wear.

So those are integral to the cable i.e. you gotta buy the whole goddamn thing.

If I understand the question, Yes the cable is one piece. I could be wrong but I think the cable assembly is one piece as sold by Porsche. BUT....the hard part is digging into the shifter part, th other attachment points are simple.

You should replace the cables. When those plastic fittings fail, you are left stranded. If you have everything apart to that extent, go for it.
numeric makes cables that replace the plastic fittings with metal ones I believe. Probably increases noise in the cabin a bit but I'd go that route.

I'm gonna run the cable from Numeric.
