Are you throwing off on my car? I do have deviating carpet...thank goodness. It is a lot of red but I get a lot of compliments on the interior, especially from Porsche people. Maybe they just feel sorry for me.
As for a GR 997, I love em.
Great looking car. Silver over red is so classic. Saw a gorgeous Gullwing Benz in this color scheme at the Mercedes museum in Irvine...T

I understand completely what you are saying and I love seeing the interiors that are close to mine. When I found this car on line I loved the Meteor immediately and could not imagine why anyone would go with red there. My wife was against it as she thought it was hideous. (She drives a GR Boxster...to pretend to care about the OP's thread at this point ) Well when I got to it in person, both me and the wife fell in love with it and the interior perfectly sets the car off. I cannot explain how different it looks in person as the tone and deepness of it is simply not captured on camera and believe me.....I have tried to.
Your car's color combo is amazing. Love the red leather. One of the most handsome cars on this forum. I would love a NB 997.2 in GT Silver with red and black interior. 6-speed, PSE, LSD, SPASM, sport seats. That would be a future classic for sure.
So I'm an old(er) guy, and I hate to be self conscious about stereo types that might apply to me, but I am. Looking for my perfect 997.2 C2/4 S cabrio. Focusing on more subdued colors like grey, black. Avoiding the "look at me" colors of white or red- although I like them. I want a Porsche for how it makes me feel, but not to get reactions from others. Is red a color that goes too far? I like it. There! I said it.
Just worry about what you want and not what others might think. Guards Red is PERFECT.

I personally love RED colored cars, and 911s are no exceptions! Go for it! YOLO~
