Default 997s Track footage

A lil fun from Mothers day at Buttonwillow.

Good laps following a 996 GT3 in the 1st video. And finding out how fast in the straights a CLA AMG is in the 2nd. Car felt great.

how much is the cab holding back the 911 on the straights? I played with a CLA 45 and was surprised how I walked away.

Great video! Not that there is a lot of motivation needed, but after watching that I had to go for a ride.

I'm running exhaust bypass pipes with car chemistry baffles inserted. As covered extensively on Rennlist, exhaust bypass results in a loss of low - mid range torque, but the power shifted towards the top more. But the sound at full throttle is worth the experience IMO.

So on the track the CLA pulls harder out of corners onto the straights because of my lack of low end and its Turbo. But my car would clean it up above 90-100mph. The CLA pulls out but doesn't continue to extend the lead.

I re-installed my Gundo mufflers this morning and went out for a drive and could immediately feel more torque from 2500-4000 rpm. Sounds tame in comparison.

All in fun.

I'm sure the top down is holding me back. Also as I mentioned less low end torque with the exhaust bypass limits me coming out of corners in 3rd gear.

Thanks for sharing. What an amazing sound these engines put out. Sometimes I find myself downshifting for no reason at all just to hear that awesome symphony.

Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Just curious. I love driving on the track, but never video'd anything or got a lap timer. What combo do you recommend. I loved the vid. You did a nice job hitting the Apex's.

Thanks. Im using harry's laptime app in my galaxy phone with a $20 mic plugged into it. Covered the mic with foam to cut wind noise. Phone is mounted with RAM mounts products (suction cup on the 2nd video, harness bar mount in the 1st video).

Looking into a 360 camera Magnus Walker used on video once, would be cool on a track environment.

Thank you for the details. Did you use your galaxy phone for the vid?

Super vid - thanks for sharing! Looks like you might have been able to get by that GT3, but that's probably just your ability?? Is your car stock other than exhaust??
