While it's true - largely because of financial realities - that the Porsche-driving demographic is older than average, I'd like to think that Porsche drivers are happier people. So many of us are driving a 911 as the realization of a childhood dream...how can that reality not make someone happy?

If you're one of the cranky ones, take a moment to let the reality of the moment hit home...recognize that 11-year-old-you would think you are The Man...(Wait, you're saying that when I get to be your age, I will be having sex AND I'll be driving a Porsche? Holy s**t, grown-up me is AWESOME!!!).
Post of the week! Only two things in my life are guaranteed smile inducers - my Porsche & my dog. And, 11 year old me didn't know what sex or a Porsche was (sheltered childhood?!?). But, 11 year old me was living in an unheated /un-air conditioned, windowless storage room, watching my dad work himself into an early grave doing menial labor, so I am sure that little guy would think the present me is pretty awesome, if not a tad nerdy. I would, however, protect young me from the knowledge of how it's gone for the Mets in the intervening 40 years!

So, stop being codgers and drive your Porsche more!

My uncle - a major fan of the thoroughbreds - always used to say, the easiest way to make a million bucks with horses is to start off with two million bucks!

Wow, from critiques of existentialism to the inner secrets of Pink Floyd, this forum is loaded with such erudite people. I feel like such an Eliza Doolittle here.

Sunday morning 9:30, and there isn't a cranky bone in my body. As I ease towards the garage door to slip away with my Guards Red mistress for a ride, I hear from behind me "are you going to plant those shrubs we bought at Home Depot yesterday now?". Now I'm cranky.

^This. My mother used to say I was 7 going on 80 (too damned long ago). Now that I'm on the downhill side of life, I think I need to find out where you guys are driving that you're getting all these flirts from younger women ...

Ha. Indeed. I'm only 39 (40 in 3 months) -- and cranky as hell.

Only 40, don't consider myself old, not cranky either. Life is short, no time to be negative. So no to both.
