Default 997.2 Brake Fluid Quantity

I'm looking to do a brake flush on my C4S with PCCB and cannot find how much fluid I'll need. I want to get Motul RBF600, but if I need 1.5 liters, I may go for a less expensive option. Pelican seems to indicate you need 1.2L, while I have heard of others doing it with 1L.

I've searched the forums and found nothing definitive. Does anyone have any insight?

to be safe, you'd definitely want to go with 1.5 liters.

Its only like $18 per 500ml on amazon, so not really an expensive endeavor

1 Liter should be enough. Some folks like to have extra on hand just in case. Motul is for track driving only, there is no point in using it on the street even if you are a spirited driver. If you are so spirited on the street that you are boiling your fluid, you should be in jail.

Well, it's not that I need a higher boiling point. I'm flushing the fluid anyway, so why not, and it's in the same $ range as the Porsche fluid. I realize that the higher boiling point will be more hygroscopic, but since I'll be doing the flush myself, it won't be a big deal to do them once a year versus once every other year. I just didn't want to buy more than necessary and end up storing a bottle. Space fills up quickly in a garage so I try and curate everything I purchase, even though this is a tiny little bottle to store.

I only plan on doing a handful of track days this year, and I highly doubt I have the skill/guts to drive my car to the point of boiling brake fluid.

Pentosin 1L for $14 at my local O'Reilly's auto parts in stock. It's usually behind the counter though so ask for it. Same as OEM. You'll be hard pressed to find Motul RBF 500ml for that price, never mind finding it locally.

You doing this yourself?
In your own garage?
Get extra. You never need it when you have it.
Once open, it does deteriorate. Put a date on it.
Dispose of all those liquids responsibly.

I bought a case of Motul RBF 600 from Fly Motorsports (flymotorsports.com) in December, and it was about $155 for 12 bottles, shipped. It's currently under $15 from the same guys. No affiliation, except as a satisfied customer. I store it in Ziploc bags in my basement, and according to Motul it has at least a 2 yr shelf life if unopened.

For quantity, I use 3 x 500ml for a flush, and do it before any track day. I have standard brakes and MPSS, so it may be overkill, however it means I don't need to worry about the fluid boiling. Kind of a cheap insurance.

For fluid, I'd recommend Ate Typ200. I use this fluid for track and daily driving. Been using it for years with great results. Some discussion on fluid HERE.

Get one liter of your favorite Dot4, either Pentosin or ATE are fine. Don't get the Porsche branded stuff unless you like to pay the "Porsche Tax." P.S. you can find Pentosin or ATE for about $10 a liter online.

OE is ATE 200. 1 liter above ought to be sufficient.

Anything more expensive for a street car that doesn't see the track is throwing money to the wind. Might as well get new turn signal fluid for all the value provided by higher boiling brake fluid on a street car.

Question...would that be

Pentosin 1204116 Super Dot 4 Brake Fluid, 1 Liter or Pentosin 1224116 Dot 4 LV Brake Fluid, 1 Liter

Both are on Amazon at differing prices. Appreciate any information.

1 liter is enough. Pull 4 oz out of each corner.
