I have tried to tell the seller what is up with his car at the end of the ppi and they will just not listen the price stays the same maybe down a few grand but no where I feel comfortable putting out an additional 20k for a rebuild.

Anyways that is the end of my rant if anyone has any good suggestions I'm all ears

Thanks again

I love Porsche and I love my 997 of 10 years but if I lived in the far north I would not buy one of these cars. It would make me crazy knowing the motor was very likely going to slowly self destruct.

Don t believe everything you read on the web..... I have read everything I can find on the subject and I don t think anyone will agree on the cause, including the weather.

Lol I know what you mean I am a parts manager for an Audi dealership and we sponsor an Audi forum just like this one, this that I also manage and we get the negativity on that as well. Been doing it for years you just need to weed through it.

Can you PM me that info as well? I am currently in talks with a couple of 997s in the GTA as well. That would definitely save me some identical grief you had.

And congrats on your find! Hope to join you this summer!
Who did you hired for the ppi?

Are you (OP) saying that you bought a 997.1 with 90K km and a scored bore #6 and you will then ship the motor to RED for nickies/IMSB/4.0 rebuild? Sounds like you will end up with a high performing, very expensive 997.

I called Ryan too to do the upcoming PPIs. It would have been pretty funny if they were in fact the identical ones. I wonder if both the seller and Ryan would say a word. My guess is.. not. Lol
