Default 997.1 turbo - first drive

So a neighbor of mine bought a 997.1 turbo and we went out for an Easter drive today! The side roads were a bit quieter today thanks to Easter Sunday.

We had a blast (giving the cyclists a wide berth and slowing for them) and made it home in one piece.

It was a joy to get to drive a turbo for the first time - what a rush when the boost kicks in! The motor is a bit laggy compared to the NA engine but noticeably stronger when it's on boost. Getting back into my C4S didn't feel at all like a step-down which was nice, but it was interesting how different the two cars felt.

All in all, someone mentioned in an earlier post - we are so lucky to have these cars and to be able to enjoy them. Get them out of the garages and have some fun!

The 997 TT is a monster
Feels incredible to drive - its like a suction cup around bends on the throttle
plus the noise of the turbos is intoxicating

Did your neighbor find the car recently?
what was his search process like?
I took a 997TT for a PPI a few months ago and was ready to pull the trigger until bad news arrived

Definitely know life aint so bad when you can take two great cars like that out on a sunday

Those are two nice looking cars! I agree that the turbo vs. na experience is very different. Each one is good, each one has strengths and weaknesses.

Nice way to spend some Porsche time on Easter Sunday!

Curious if you noticed the difference in clutch feel? After driving my turbo, my S clutch feels so much heavier.

Well, my car is PDK so not really I did have a Targa 4 stick before the PDK C4S and the Turbo clutch was heavier than the Targa 4. The turbo is a .1 while the Targa 4 was a .2 car - not sure if that makes a difference. I also noticed the bite point for the turbo clutch was quite high.
