Default Sport Chrono Package

Hello everyone. I am a newbie to the forum. Just bought a 2009 Carrera S with PDK. I have called the local dealer twice about the sport chrono package and they did not call me back either time. My question is if I can get the sport chrono package added to my car.

Thanks in Advance

Yes. There are a couple of posts that cite p/n and price out of Suncoast Porsche. Search.

You can add the sports mode - please see the information from Suncoast:

According to the part description, with PDK, you'll get the Sport Plus functionality/button, too.

Sport mode & Sports Chrono are 2 different things.

Sport mode option gives all the performance stuff (engine mapping & suspension) but does not give you the dash wart time clock. (CHRONOmeter)

Good point. The wart is near useless anyway. Unless the OP wants that thing.

I have no need for the wart. I am just looking for more aggressive shifting. Is Suncoast to Porsche like Dinan to BMW?

One more question, for the sport mode software, do you buy it and you take it to the Porsche dealer for installation or do you just go to the Porsche dealership and have them order and install it.

Suncoast is a Porsche dealer that has excellent pricing. They're in FL. Being on the West Coast, I use Sunset Porsche in OR.

You can do it either way. Maybe your local dealer will match the price. Search for more info. I think there are posts that talk about installation costs.

I just added Sport Mode, including Sport Plus, to my 2011 Cayman. Suncoast did the work. My understanding is the software is already in the car but they have to get a code that is specific to your car from Porsche Germany to activate it. That means using their proprietary computer and of course the dash plate with buttons has to be changed.

Thanks for the info. I guess that is why they ask specifically for your VIN and say it is useless without it.

Suncoast Porsche is a dealer who has their s-hit together when it comes to parts, knowledge, service, website, guidance, etc.

I can say the same for Sunset. Depends on which one is closer to you relative to shipping.

I am closest to Porsche of North Houston. I have called them twice and both times they said they had to look it up and would get back with me. No call back either time. I will call another dealership tomorrow.
