Leather Center Console Installation (including DIY PDF)
The topic name is a bit of a misnomer because this is mostly about how to get the console out, so a replacement can be installed...
So I ordered this leather center console from Suncoast months ago and the Fatherland finally sent it over. I'd been planning to do this for years - should have done it much sooner when I did this: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...rade-done.html, but kept balking at the price. As the soft paint gathered more wounds I knew that it was time to cut it loose, so here we go...
The process took me about 4 hours - would have been 3 had I not been trying to get decent photos and had I not hit a wall with the arm rest (more on that later). There are very good guides on the MACarbon WEB site that served as the basis for my installation: http://www.macarbon.com/index.php?op...mid=94&lang=en But, they don't tell you everything, so I took some notes and will add my experience to the process.
I've attached a detailed PDF with photos of the installation.

Photos of finished install.
This was expensive and a lot of work, but I'm very glad I did it and am very happy with the result.

This sets a whole new standard for DIYs! That's a beautiful console, I can see why you are happy with the results. Thank you for all of the effort it clearly took to put this all together.

How about the hand brake lever? Where did you get that one?

Thanks so much for compiling the PDF!! My new leather console will be arriving from Suncoast on Thursday...I had several other references including the MACarbon one that I was going to cross reference but having it all together in once concise guide is much nicer.
Thanks!!!
