Really shouldn't be a problem as they should be lacquered after the dipping has taken place.

That looks so much better than the faded black plastic - I think I have to do it, but based on your pricing intel, need to find a different shop. Maybe you can carefully create a cut line where the print film on the rubber meets the plastic and peel it off the rubber part. Looking forward to the better outside pics.

Nice work though.

Pete I can't change it now, the rubber was also lacquered.

I would suggest to tell the shop to mask off the rubber trim, I think it would look a lot better.

At last got the new cabin filter cover from my OPC & finished off installing the panels.
I love the look, it's subtle but for me upgrades the plastic panels in the frunk & around the wipers.
I will pull out the rest of the plastic panels - nav, brake reservoir etc to finish off the look.
As I had commented on in another post, I should have told the guy to tape off the rubber edge and I would recommend to others to not to do the edge as it looks prone to cracking.

So here is the final look

Yup, that pretty much seals it for me - now I have to have this done. I was also awaiting your final pics to see what it would look like with the other plastic frunk panels left black, as I wasn't sure about the contrast and thought I might have to do them all, but with the others being a little lower and separated by the trunk seal, I think it looks perfect the way it is and doing all of them would likely be overkill.

Great idea !

Thanks for the replies guys!

Pete the problem now is how "bad" the frunk panels look. I have some Sonax black plastic trim coating which I will apply & hopefully that will make it look some what better, I'm waiting to get my TT spoiler back from the body shop so will leave the frunk area for now until I get that installed.
