I reviewed the FAQ and some searching on the forum but I didn't find what I was seeking. I'm close to purchasing a 2009 Carrera 4s cab. The car has 75K miles on it but review of the service history shows it was serviced regularly at a Porsche dealer. I'm paying for a PPI at a different Porsche dealer then the one that has the car FS. I'm 200 miles away but the photos of the car look spectacular and I can't get there to inspect in person. Assuming the PPI is positive is there anything else I should be concerned about? Car has PDK so no overrev report.

I own a 2010 C4S that I purchased 3 years ago. The car was located at a Maclaren dealership and it was about 100 miles away from my house. I had a PPI done at the local Porsche dealership. Everything checked out fine and I purchased the car. My car only had 5K miles on it. My car also has PDK. I most likely paid a higher premium for a low mile car.

You might read posts and concerns about PDK and the potential replacement cost. I also bought an extended warranty for a piece of mind. I have not had to use it.

Good luck with your decision. My only regret is that I did not buy my car sooner.

I echo the previous post. If you have driven the car and you like it, & PPI checks out, & you got the cash, stop fretting and buy it! Buy a warranty if that brings you peace of mind. Post pics when you do!

You may want to mention where the vehicle is located and perhaps a member can put eyes on it for you.

FWIW, I personally would prefer a qualified Indy do the PPI instead of a dealer...

I second this. I just had a PPI done at a Porsche dealer and although they were nice, I expected a little more for $320.00.

Great suggestions folks, thanks. The car is at Law Auto Group Bensonville, Illinois.
What is the name/ contact info for the preferred extended warranty ? Since this car has 75,000 miles I'm concerned about the serpentine belt, the sparkplugs/coils and the brake fluid flush and when they were done last . Also concerned as I found out the previous owner mounted dedicated winter tires and drove the car year round whereas many never see winter. Probably none of those issues will come to light in a PPI.

Plugs and coils are a slightly bigger deal in terms of reaching them on these cars. I had the serpentine belt and plugs done on my 997tt for under $200 during the last service, so those aren't worth loosing sleep over (or for me, even bothering with DIY, and I'm totally comfortable with either task, they would however take me more than an hour).

I would try and negotiate the cost of the belt, plugs, brake fluid, etc into the purchasing price or have the dealer do it before purchasing. Also, like was stated already, have someone nearby take a look at it in person for you. We call it a "Renncheck." I would start another thread with the title that says, "need a renncheck in Illinois." There are a lot of great guys on here that will probably help you out. Good luck

Maybe someone on the board & in the area can go look at the car on your behalf. You can buy then a case of beer in return.

What dealer did most of the servicing? If you want an indy, Eurosport is located in Bensenville, not far from this internet dealer.

For PDK, check to see if the Clutch Oil has been changed. The trans oil is 10yr/120. However, the 991 Clutch Oil was changed to 10yr/120 and I don't think the transmissions are really any different.

The Carfax shows that the later half of it's life was serviced and a Goodyear shop....

My assumption is that the car might have some sort of suspension issue. It looks like the suspension was checked at Isringhausen Porsche at 56k miles. Then that owner dumped the car. The 3rd owner reported a lot of tire balancing and tire check issues going on at goodyear. Who knows....
