Thought i’d share

I implemented the soln above but for my bike rack the tongue kicks up so tilting the license plate wouldn’t work, so here’s my solution!

Two 6” drawer rails from Amazon and some random hardware and viola. The rails lock in the top position and then slide down smoothly.
