for the turbo II wheels there is a an oem sticker in the barrel, and all porsche wheels have the the sizing/fitment info etched into the wheel itself.

are you replacing your wheel with turbo or turbo II wheels?

if your have Rear wheels
- (997.362.163.03) 11x19 et67 rear they are the oem ones made for c2/c2s.
- (997.362.163.02) 11x19 et51 rear wheels are the oem ones made for the c4/c4s/turbo (to accommodate the wider rear 1/4 panels).

conversely for the front wheels
- (997.362.157.02) 8x19 et57 front wheels are the ones made for c2/c2s/c4/c4s
- (997.362.157.05) 8.5x19 et56 front wheels are the ones that come with the turbo only to accommodate the slightly wider turbo front bumper due to the fog lights.

i have a c2s myself and have the turbo II wheels that i will be putting on the car in about 2 months when spring rolls around

11x19 et51 rear wheels (completely flush on a narrow body without needing a spacer)
11x8 et57 front wheels (will be using 15mm front adaptec spacers to have the front wheels flush to the fenders as well).

I'm on oem ride height (pasm - not s-pasm), and my current wheel setup is flush to the fenders on rear 295, my new rear setup ill try 305s ... i have a friend with a flush wheel setup on a c2s with 305s in the rear as well. looks great imo.

some photos below.

hope this helps.

These offset and tire size etc discussions lose me. Thanks for any education you can give.

Can't wait to see the Turbo II wheels on your car Mike! I really like the look of them. Your a wealth of knowledge when it comes to 997s!

I have a 997.1 C2S narrow body with the 997.1 turbo wheels (305 at the rear) and what I think is 7 mm H&R spacers at the rear. Looks like this:

That certainly looks ideal. But especially given that a spacer was needed there and the fact you have 305 tires, I guess that those are the Turbo wheels made with the narrow-body offset in the first place. Do you know the wheel offset for sure? I'll bet you'll find those have the 67 offset.

And as an aside: Am I the only one obsessed enough to have trimmed off the thin molding "whiskers" from my tires?

Noob question about the GTS. According to Porsche's "Summer Tire Overview", the required front wheel size is 8.5x19 ET56. However, will 8x19 ET57 wheels fit? 8x19 ET57 is the default for the other Carreras so I'm trying to understand the difference.

The 19x8 front wheels should still fit , just inset 8mm from the 19x8.5 wheels

Thanks, not a DIY guy, can you school me further on this? I assume "inset" means physically place the wheel closer to the chassis? How did you come up with 8mm?

I basically want to swap a set of Carrera Sport wheels for Turbo II wheels.

I downloaded the 997 Tequipment doc. It says that the Turbo II is "incompatible" with the GTS. Due to this, if I take it to a Porsche dealership to do the swap will have an issue?

GTS might be center lock so that's why "incompatible". Read here for more info on offsets:

Thanks for the info. And I spoke too soon on "incompatible". When I scrolled down further in Tequipment, they're "compatible" with winter tires, but for some reason not summer tires?

You can also compare a current wheel and tire setup against one you're considering at www.willtheyfit.com which factors in wheel offset, diameter, and tire size. It will give you both verbal and graphical results so you understand the effect of the change.

That s what I have, NB turbo s. They are hard to find. I couldn t find a second set for myself.
That turbo wheel is one of Porsche s best. Forged wheel. Light and stronger than the standard P-wheel and better than cheap aftermarket wheels.

Forged is forged, there is no magical dust that makes a PORSCHE wheel any better than a well engineered FORGED wheel.

Food for thought; the majority of Porsche wheels are LPC, low pressure cast from a manufacturing standpoint and so most "aftermarket" wheels are made in the same fashion, in addition there are flow-forged and forged "AFTER-MARKET" wheels that exceed the standard LPC wheels that come stock on the Porsche cars.

Just as there are better suspension systems such as the PSS10 kits that out perform the stock standard set-ups there are plenty of aftermarket wheels that will out-perform factory wheels.

Just trying to clear up the air that just because they are factory wheels, they are not superior to all other "aftermarket" wheels.
