How about......pics of 997's with 18"...
Would love to see some or all of the 997's out there with 18" wheels and how they are integrated with different suspension mods, good for tracking i am told, considereing mounting a set of MY02's, the 8 and 10's, with the 50 and 65 ET's.....and as always, thanks up front...

Three Wheelin'
Here's a few of mine with 18's. I recently changed them out for Sport Classics, but kept them - I still like them and will probably put them on again when I get board. No mods though other than 5mm spacers (not in the photos) and I've never tracked it.

I have 18's as they are what came on the car with all seasons. However, they also came with a huge wheel gap as I have the base suspension. No worries, TechArt is in the mail. I also just purchased 19s for the summer tires but the 18s work great for now in this weather.

The Carrera III wheel for the 997 is very similar in appearance to the Carrera five spoke wheels from 2002. I'm sure there is a slight difference in the offset between the two, but I don't know about the weight. I wonder if the Carrera III is similar in weight to the 2002 wheel?

Carrera III came stock 18" with 8x11" for C4 WB cars with ET51 offset in rear. It can be fitted perfectly for NB cars including 295-305. MY02s comes with 8x10 or 236/265 combo.

I track on Toyo R888 tires on 18'' wheels on my 997.2 c2s. However, if you don't have more negative camber than stock (I still don't have enough at all) then you are tossing away some advantages of the 18'' wheels.
One example; the car from the factory with the SAME suspension setup as stock is FASTER On 19's than 18's...why? Because it turns in faster and has less sidewall flex given the base setup. The car becomes a bit more nimble with less understeer and more oversteer. There is a good video on best motoring that echos the same feel, but i've noticed it myself on my car.
*(because if you are running 18' wheels you should be running a taller tire to keep the ratio proper for PSM and ABS to function properly)*
