Default Introduction

Hi. I've had my car for a month and a half now and thought it was time for an introduction. This is my second Porsche - first was a 99 Carrera Cab with Tiptronic. I had that car for over 4 years and it was great - no reliability issues whatsoever - just wanted something different. Sold it and went in another direction. After a while and a few looks at a couple of other Porsche's I purchased this 2009 997.2.
It's a base Carrera with a 6 speed - relatively low option car - heated seats, Sport Chrono, Xenon Dynamic Lighting and a few other things. My preference is for the lower options as less to go wrong as they get older. This is a one owner car that the previous owner had paid to have CPO'd to extend the warranty a further 2 years. The car has a documented service history and had been brought to the dealer on a regular basis.
Car had 130,000 kilometres when I purchased it and had a new engine installed at 123,000 km by a Porsche dealer in eastern Canada. Nice car, very clean for something that had accumulated this kind of mileage.
I purchased a set of Pirelli Sottozero snow tires on Victor Zehn wheels and I intend to drive it all year round. Really enjoying the 6 speed after the tip in my last car.
Cheers, Scott

Nice looking car..
Out of curiosity - did they give reason why the engine needed to be replaced?

Thanks Hollywood. The service records indicate that the car had developed an appetite for antifreeze. When I first read that I had a flashback to the D-chunk and porous blocks in the old M96 engines. Getting info from Porsche dealers on their reasoning behind engine replacements is a bit like pulling teeth.
