Howdy all,
My name is Gregg and I have a 2004 C4S cabrio in my sights but I have a question first. I was provided a link to help decipher Porsche vin numbers but still find it a tad confusing. From my research it seems the 2004 model was the end of the 996 era and the beginning of the 997 era so I could use some help determining the classification, I think it is a 997?
The VIN# is...WP0CA29974S650350.
Thanks in advance,
Gregg

It's a 996. You can also tell by the shape of the headlights. 997 headlights are round whereas the 996 has that side piece pointing towards the hood. 997's started production with the 2005 model.

Actually there are some MY 2005 996 cars also. These include the turbo, turbo s, and a limited number of Carreras.
