Default 991 20" wheels on a 997

I was searching around on the board, and surprisingly have not seen any 20" 991 S polished face 10 spoke wheels in a 997 (preferably narrow body).

I have seen many pics on the board and on google of 997s with 20", but none with this wheel.

Anyone done this or have any pics of a car that has them ?

Also, I saw a 19" replica version of the same wheel that Im considering too, but haven't seen any pics of this on the vehicle.

Does anyone have any ?

Thanks in advance

The link on my signature for the silver card has polished Champion RS171s or brushed ADV1s in the pics, but both are 19s and they're different wheels obviously, but thought you might want pics of polished or shiny wheels on a NB 997.

Thanks -- nice 997.

I'm surprised that I can't find someone who has done this already, following in the tradition of putting later model 911 wheels on previous gens.

i.e lots of 993 turbos with 996 turbo wheels and even with 19's

I really love that 10 spoke polished 991 wheel, and wonder if it will look better on a 997 narrow body than the other wheel I really like which is the turbo II.

I believe the 991 wheels have different offsets than the 997 but they can be made to work with spacers. I am of the opinion that the 20s not only look too big for the car but will change the ride quality too much for my liking. I saw some 19 replica wheels specifically for the 997 on eBay just the other night as an option. Cheers

Thanks guys,

I like the look - but i think the narrow body offset or a wide body with a 295 might be a better fit.

but is it me or does it need to be lowered once it has 20's ?

wonder if that's even an option or would you have to roll fenders, etc (not something I want to do on my car )

wonder if there's any more pics available, would be nice to see some more shots from different angles, and with both wheels on - to get a complete feel for the look

I tend to agree. I think the 991 Carrera Classic 20" looks great on the 991 but appears too large on the 997.

op - have you considered the 19" Turbo II wheel (below). What wheels do you currently have btw?

Your turbo 2's are the other wheels I was considering --- very nice! are those replicas or oem ?

Im running lobsters - which I love for their "stock" yet lightweight look.

but I thought it might be nice to change it up a bit, and I don't mind sacrificing a bit of weight for the 2nd set

The one above was pulled from a search. Mine pictured below with 19" Carrera Classic's on 295 section rears.

This is my absolute favorite 997 wheel. They remind me of the 993 Turbo twisties.

imo 19s are max on 997 -- 20's are a bridge too far

18's look good too if we're after the meaty tuff guy track star look
