I did not expect such visual change. I love it. I removed the bumper because it is not that difficult, I could do some clean-up, tie the tubes for headlights pressure wash and from the top it is easier to put the dozen of screws.
Thanks, This is how it was ordered from Factory. This Launch model was commissioned this way for our Local Toronto dealer.
Literally every box checked!
I also just installed the 991 SPASM lip on my car. It's amazing how OEM the lip looks on a 997.2. I'm genuinely surprised the aftermarket hasn't produced a knock-off version that is a direct bolt on for our cars. I guess at the ~$200 price point for the OEM 991 version, and given that it only takes ~45 minutes of work to make it fit, there isn't enough in it in terms of potential margin.
Anyway, here are some c@ppy iPhone shots of my car. Though the last one is awfully dark, I thought it was cool the way the light in my office parking garage highlighted the lip. My eventual objective for the car is to achieve an OEM+ look. Basically, a car that looks totally OEM at a glance, but with enough subtle improvements that car guys/gals will know it's not stock. So far I've just done clear side markers and the lip. Next up, come spring-time, are spacers and a modest drop (keeping the 4X4 stance for the snowy months). After that I'll focus on weight reduction and improving the exhaust note. I've already done the rear seat delete, which saves ~30lbs according to my bathroom scale, and has the convenient side benefit of making much easier to fit kids car seats in the back. I also plan to do the Sharkwerks center muffler bypass and Gundo hack, and source a good set of light, 18" forged wheels which should yield another ~30-40 lbs of weight savings. After that cost/benefit gets sketchy, but I think a case can be made for some lightweight brake rotors when my OEM ones need replacement.
couldnt help but do a quick comparison. tims car vs mine. also a huge shout out and thank to tim re kindly helping me out over the years re 997.2 conversion.
cobalt blue c2s with various lips - 991 vs werks1, both look great imo.
Fantastic looking car myw. Love the cobalt blue. Your car and EMC2's both nail the look that I aspire to with my C2. That werks1 lip looks really good, maybe even better than the 991 lip. However if memory serves, it's pretty expensive right? Makes me wonder what the 991 lip would look like wrapped in some 3M carbon fiber vinyl.
yes its expensive as hell (very annoying). i considered the 991 lip but but i would have had my body shop shave it down so it wouldn't be as thick... but i really did like the werks1 so went with that in the end. thank you for the kind words!
