I got my 997 last month. Drive the P-car on weekends if it is not raining and we can put the top down. I think I will try and take it out during week days, though I am a little hesitant to bring it to work (co-worker envy can create a whole new set of issues).

Daily drive is a 2006 A6 - has 140k miles but drives like a champ! I go skiing in the winters so it works for those trips as well.

I just picked up my '06 C2S with 9k miles on it a few weeks ago, but it's a second car for me and will just be used for around town errands, going to dinner, and of course some fun drives every now and then. My commute is 90 miles and I have a great 2002 VW Passat for that - no need to beat the 911 up by driving on I95 and through downtown Baltimore. My wife has an X5 diesel that we use for most roadtrips, and I have a Ducati for the track so I think we have all the bases covered

One of the benefits of leasing a P-car is that you can drive all you want. My 1st P-car was an early 996TT Arctic Silver. I bought that car and it was a garage queen. I freaked one day when a rain drop fell on it. Traded it in for a lease 997Cab and 3 yrs later .... I leased a 997TT. Drove the 997TT during storms, mudslides (awd comes in handy), snow, sleet ..... everything. I enjoyed that car since I could drive it without worrying about it.

PGas32,

Mind if I ask what you paid for it. Coup or Cab? I have one picked out and priced just wanted a compare.

I walk to work. Takes me 10 minutes. Sit down on the garage couch each morning to put on my shoes and get a look at the 911. Sometimes I'll go home for "lunch" and take it out for a short spirited run to destress. Is the perfect cure.

Picked it up in Sep '13, and have put 27k km on it. Mostly weekend runs and long weekend road trips, along with the occasional track day.

DD is a 2013 cayenne s. My daily drive is 4 miles which does not even permit proper warm up. 99 c2 cab with 15k is garage queen 1-1.5 k a year no winter, no rain use . 07 c2 cab tip is weekend regular use, 27k on the clock, under 3000 miles per year will use all year weather permitting no snow or rain but my wife can drive it home if I have had a drink. 03 575m with 17 k f1 garage queen now that I got into P cars, and the value is climbing, no winter use. I like to rotate but no reason to drive anything but the cayenne in the rain or snow. I would like to trade the 07 cab for a coupe with tip or later with PDK.

Question. Is tip more reliable than the PDK? It seems like a lot of cars have PDK problems and expensive replacements

The C2cab gets about 5-6K per year. Sunshine only (unless I'm tinkering with the DD).

My DD is a 2005 Volvo S40 T5 (hence my screen name Torq5teer). Built like a tank, drives like one too. Wife has the minivan, and my project is a 1996 E36.

I drive mine 1-2 times a week, weather permitting. Works out to 3-5k miles a year.

My E46 M3 is my DD on nice days and I have a truck for the bad weather days or days I want something extra comfortable.

I drive mine everyday rain or shine. If it's calling for snow I take my grand wagoneer which is super comfy. An ex 1984 900 Turbo driver here. I absolutely loved that car

2009 C2S 93K miles

I enjoy sex. So much that I abstain from it and this makes it extra special when I have it. Way better this way than say "wearing it out" by doing it every day.

Peace

I'm retired now so don't have a DD. Even when I was working, it was always internationally so all I needed was an airport and a taxi.
Cars....well, '03 Land Rover Series II Disco for a ski truck in Colorado. '00 Jag XK8 convertible as a grocery getter in Scottsdale. '08 Range Rover is our "go to" road trip truck for travel between homes.
On the Porsche side, '08 4S keeps Sottozero's mounted year round in NW Montana and Colorado. '06 Carrera S in Colorado for summer / dry fun in the mountains.
Do you think I'm addicted?

Drive the 997.2 C4S a few times a month probably about 500 miles on average. Sometimes I use it for work but not too often.

The DD is a 2008 GTI which I bought new. To all of you who clearly love driving, if you've not driven a new GTI do yourself a favor and drive one! The GTI is the 911 of hot hatches and its quite honestly the best all around car I've owned ( owned numerous BMW's which I've since sold also).

The GTI drives beautifully and even though the 911 is special it never feels like a downgrade when I drive the GTI. It hauls people comfortably and more luggage than you'd think. There's a reason why the GTI is coveted the world over!

I've considered a new one but can't quite bear to part with my 2008 😄
